Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 May 2026
These terms govern your use of the How to Birth a Mother website (the “site”) and any related services provided by Therese Röjsäter (“we,” “us,” or “the practice”). By using the site or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.
1. Nature of the service
We provide doula support: emotional, informational, and physical support to people during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. A doula is not a medical professional. We do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or replace care from a midwife, obstetrician, paediatrician, or other licensed clinician. Always consult your medical provider for medical questions.
2. No medical advice
All content on this site, including research summaries, blog entries, and any communications, is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not delay seeking medical care because of something you read here.
3. Discovery calls and bookings
Discovery calls are free and approximately 45 minutes. They are a conversation, not the start of a formal engagement. Booking a discovery call does not create a contract for doula services. If we choose to work together after the call, a separate written agreement will set out the scope, fees, and terms of that engagement.
4. Payments, cancellations, and refunds
You can reschedule or cancel a free discovery call any time before the appointment using the link in your confirmation email. Engagement-specific cancellation terms are set out in the individual services agreement.
All payments for paid services are final and non-refundable unless specifically stated otherwise in your individual services agreement or required by applicable consumer protection law. This includes program fees, deposits, and any session or retainer payments. Any exception to this rule will be in writing and signed by both parties.
5. Intellectual property
All content on the site (text, images, design, code) is the property of How to Birth a Mother unless otherwise credited. You may share links to pages and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not republish, resell, or use site content for commercial purposes without written permission.
6. Third-party tools
The site embeds tools we do not operate: Cal.com (booking), Google Fonts (typography), and our hosting provider. Use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Research summaries reflect the cited sources as published; the underlying evidence base is the responsibility of those publishers, not ours.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our liability arising out of your use of the site or the discovery call is limited to direct damages and shall not exceed any fees you have paid us in the previous twelve months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith discussion shall be brought before the competent Swedish courts.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
